- Broker API credentials (stored encrypted at rest, never transmitted in plain text)

Information collected automatically:
- Session data (login timestamps, session activity) stored in server-side session only
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps — retained for security and debugging purposes
- Trade execution records: orders placed, fills, positions, profit/loss — associated with your account
We do not collect:
- Payment card data (no payment processing is handled directly by us)
- Social media profile information
- Device identifiers or biometric data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your account and maintain secure sessions
- Execute trading workflows and send alerts on your behalf according to your configured preferences

- Your broker: Broker API credentials and trade instructions are transmitted to your configured brokerage (e.g. Alpaca, Interactive Brokers) solely to execute trades on your behalf.
- Market data providers: Ticker symbols may be sent to third-party data APIs (Yahoo Finance, news aggregators) to retrieve pricing and news data. No personal data is included in these requests.
- Email delivery: Your email address is used with our configured SMTP/email provider to deliver notifications.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of TickerGainer or others.
5. Cookies & Tracking
TickerGainer uses a minimal set of cookies:
- Session cookie: A secure, HTTP-only session cookie is set on login to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie expires upon inactivity or logout.
- No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used. We do not integrate analytics SDKs such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.
You may disable cookies in your browser, but this will prevent you from logging in to the platform.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Broker credentials encrypted at rest using strong symmetric encryption (AES-256) with per-account keys
- All web traffic served over HTTPS (TLS)
- Session tokens invalidated on logout and after a configurable inactivity timeout
- Access to user data restricted to authenticated server processes only
- Passwords hashed using bcrypt with appropriate work factor
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained for the lifetime of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account closure upon request.
- Trade logs: Retained for up to 3 years for auditing and dispute resolution.
- Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days and then purged automatically.
- Email records: Delivery logs retained for up to 30 days.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
10. Children’s Privacy
TickerGainer is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
